Welcome to Marlborough Endodontics, where we offer your patients quality endodontic services delivered in a caring & compassionate environment. We encourage you to talk with us on how we can help provide your patients with the highest quality of care.
We offer materials to help inform your patients on what to expect, and how to prepare for an endodontic treatment.
We offer printed materials for your office. You can also download the digital versions of our patient brochure and referral pad below.
Technological Advances In Our Office
We are Now Offering
The GentleWave® Procedure
- Minimally invasive1 using minimal instrumentation2
- Preserves the dentin structure of the tooth3
- Fluids reach throughout the entire root canal system1
- Cleans and disinfects the microscopic spaces1,2 standard RCT often cannot4
- Cleaning and filling can typically be completed in just one session3
- Removes biofilm5 and smear layer from crown to apex2
X-ray procedures are an essential part of quality endodontic therapy. Our offices utilize an advanced non-film dental imaging system known as CDR (computed dental radiography). The already low radiation required for dental radiographs is further reduced by over 80% compared to conventional film. Using this system, an electronic sensor produces computerized radiographs which appear instantly on a chairside computer screen. These images can then be optimized, printed, archived indefinitely and sent to your dentist.
Microscopes and Imaging
Our doctors are equipped with operating microscopes. Magnification and fiberoptic illumination are invaluable tools that assist us in performing the technical aspects of endodontic treatment. Our operating microscopes are equipped with a high-resolution video to help document cases for enhanced communication with both our patients and our colleagues.
Electronic apex locators
These are highly accurate machines that enable us to perform your endodontic treatment with great precision, while reducing the need for multiple x-rays during the procedure.
Our operatories are equipped with sophisticated ultrasonic units which are used to remove posts and metal instruments, as well as aid in the search for calcified canals. These units are also used to prepare the root-end for a retrograde filling in cases when microsurgical intervention is indicated. The diamond coated microscopic tips vibrate up to 25,000 cycles per second to insure accurate and speedy preparation.
The cleaning and shaping of the root canal is aided by the use of metal instruments made of a unique alloy of nickel-titanium. We use both hand and rotary instruments along with a liquid antimicrobial agent to help remove bacteria and tissue.
New electric hand pieces are virtually silent. This significantly reduces any anxiety or irritation felt by our patients. These hand pieces are designed to be used exclusively with nickel titanium rotary instruments.
Mineral Trioxide Aggregate
A hydrophilic ceramic material that is a relatively new advancement in endodontic treatment. Our doctors use MTA for pulp capping, resorption repairs, perforation repairs, root end filling during surgical treatment, and apical plug during apexification. Current literature supports its use as a biocompatible material with excellent resistance to leakage.
